Turn your tax dollars into Lutheran East student scholarships.
Through a recent change in Ohio tax law, you can now choose to funnel some of your Ohio tax dollars directly to support student scholarships at Lutheran East. We receive the funds, and you qualify for a dollar-for-dollar tax credit.
It’s truly a win-win, and it’s simple:
- You make a donation to our scholarship granting organization: The Lutheran Scholarship Granting Organization of Ohio, designating Lutheran East as the recipient.
- You receive confirmation of your donation from the LSGO of Ohio on behalf of Lutheran East.
- You qualify for a dollar-for-dollar tax credit (up to $750 for individual filers; $1,500 for those filing jointly, up to but not exceeding your state tax liability amount) on your Ohio taxes by submitting that confirmation with your return.
Not sure how much you should give to maximize your tax benefit?
Every Ohio taxpayer pays state taxes, whether you typically receive a refund or owe. This giving opportunity both benefits our students and enables the majority of donors to improve their tax outcomes. We’re happy to talk with you to help you identify your Ohio income tax liability.
It is, simply, a way for you to enable more families to receive a Lutheran East education while potentially costing you nothing.
