Lutheran East Hires Mr. Matt Luecke as Next Head of School

Lutheran High School East is pleased to announce that Mr. Matt Luecke has accepted the position of Head of School.

Luecke has served Lutheran East in a multitude of capacities over the course of the past 10 years, including teacher in the Social Studies and Religion departments, Vice Principal of Admissions & Enrollment, and Vice Principal of Curriculum & Instruction. Before his time at Lutheran East, he served as a Teacher and Athletic Director at St. John Nottingham in Cleveland.  

Luecke is a 2006 graduate of Lutheran High School West and a 2010 graduate of The Ohio State University, where he majored in Integrated Social Studies. He also received his Lutheran Teacher Diploma from Concordia Ann Arbor in 2012.  He is a fellow of Calvin University’s Van Lunen Center for Executive Management in Christian Schools. 

Current Acting Head of School and CHSA Superintendent & CEO, Mr. Chris Steinmann, says, “We’re thrilled that Matt has accepted this role. He is uniquely qualified, through his educational and school leadership background coupled with his decade of experience at Lutheran East, to take the helm and ensure that Lutheran East and its students continue to thrive. Matt’s ability to think through the direction of the school, combined with his deep love of our students, makes him the perfect person to step in as the next leader at Lutheran East. ”

Luecke will take over the Head of School role starting on July 1, in advance of the 2025-2026 school year. 

Luecke says, “I love Lutheran East and its students – past, present, and future. Luecke, his wife Melinda, and daughter Meredith reside in Lakewood and are members of Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Royalton.
